Stuck in an endless cycle of loving each other out of habit and hating each other due to growing incompatibility, the couple grasp at straws to salvage however much of their relationship they can. It subtly shows in their everyday lives, from gradually diverging book genres of choice to the type of shoes they wear. However, as adulthood painfully changes them in different ways, Yamane and Hachiya find themselves increasingly estranged from each other. The 2 university students eventually fall for each other and start living together post-graduation.
